'We exist to enable adults with cerebral palsy and associated disabilities to claim the right to control his or her own life, to share in the opportunities, enjoyment, challenges and responsibilities of everyday life and play a full part in society'
Who we are
Teesside
Ability Support Centre (formerly Cleveland Spastics, Scope on Teesside)
has been providing a day service to Adults with Disabilities since
1968.
We're a Registered Charity (508551) and Limited Company (1417036) and are sustained through donations and local government contracts to
provide Care and Life Skills for the enablement of adults with differing
abilities.
In September 2009 we opened a Satellite Centre at All Nations Church in Hemlington, Middlesbrough, but we still have a waiting list of over 80 people so hope to expand further in the future.
The hydrotherapy pool
2012 is already proving to be an exciting year, with so many positive things happening – we're improving what we offer all the time, and one of those is the building of our amazing hydrotherapy pool. Work is progressing really fast and the pool is almost ready! We've kept a diary showing the progress and taken loads of pictures so that the members can see how a hole in the ground turned into a state of the art hydrotherapy pool. Staff have volunteered to do a special life guard training event to help make sure that members are safe while they are using the pool.
